Dr. Picoult, Evan C.
Evan is a Managing Director in Citigroup’s Risk
Management department and is based in New
York. He is an Adjunct Professor in Columbia
University’s Graduate School of Business.
Evan has worked for Citigroup for more than 25
years. Over the years he has led the development
of the methods used at Citigroup to measure the
risks of trading (market risk, counterparty credit
risk) and has managed teams responsible for


Citigroup’s methods of measuring wholesale credit risk and operational
risk. His more recent focus has been on the measurement and use of
economic capital and regulatory capital.
Evan has published a number of articles and chapters in books on risk
analytics. He is frequently invited to lecture on risk topics at professional
conferences, regulatory conferences and at universities and has also
frequently lectured within his firm.
Evan has been very active in several international professional and
industry associations. He has been the North American chair of ISDA’s
Risk Management Committee since the mid-1990’s; he is on the Board of
Advisors of the IAFE and co-chair of the IAFE’s Credit Risk Committee;
and he is on the Board of Directors of the IACPM. He has also been very
active on several industry association working groups regarding Basel II
issues.
Evan has a Ph.D. in experimental particle physics from Columbia
University and an MBA from Columbia University’s Graduate School of
Business.
