Dr. Altman, Edward I.

Edward is the Max L. Heine Professor of
Finance at the Stern School of Business, New
York University. Since 1990, he has directed the
research effort in Fixed Income and Credit
Markets at the NYU Salomon Center.

Edward has an international reputation as an
expert on corporate bankruptcy, high yield
Risk Knowledge Network, Inc.

bonds, distressed debt and credit risk analysis. He has lectured
extensively on executive programs on credit risk including in Beijing,
Bangkok, Fontainebleau (INSEAD). His academic programs have included
at foreign universities such as Mumbai, Shanghai, HKUST, Tokyo, NUS etc.
He lectures in the joint NYU-HKUST Global Finance master Program in
Asia. He is currently an advisor to the Centrale dei Bilanci in Italy and to
several foreign central banks in Brazil, China, Taiwan and Spain. As an
expert, he has provided congressional and other government testimony.

Edward was inducted into the Fixed Income Analysts Society Hall of Fame
in 2001 and was voted amongst the 100 Most Influential persons in
Finance 2005 by Treasury & Risk Management Magazine. He has
published or edited almost two dozen books (including on credit risk
(Wiley) and recovery risk (Risk Books)) and over 140 articles in scholarly
finance, accounting and economic journals. His work has appeared in
many languages including Japanese and Korean.

Edward was elected President of the Financial Management Association
(2002). He is a Senior Advisor to the Credit Risk Management Institute,
Shanghai School of Finance & Economics, since 2002. He is a Consulting
Editor with John Wiley for the Frontiers in Banking & Finance Series for over
25 years. He is a Founding Editor, Journal of Banking & Finance (Elsevier)
and is on the Board of Editors of the Journal of Credit Risk.

Edward holds an MBA/PhD in Finance from UCLA.
