Dr. Aziz, Andrew R.

Andy is Executive Vice President of Risk
Solutions at Algorithmics Inc., based in Toronto.
He leads the firm’s Buy-Side and Sell-Side
business lines. In this role he is responsible for
product strategy, business development, and
overall profitability for each business segment.
He is also responsible for the newly launched,
‘Algo Risk Service’, a managed risk service
Risk Knowledge Network, Inc.

targeted towards Hedge Funds, Asset Managers, Pension funds, and
Prime Brokers.

Andy has held a number of senior positions at Algorithmics including Vice
President of Products, Vice President of Professional Services and
Executive Director of Financial Engineering. Since joining Algorithmics in
1994, he has led the design, positioning, implementation and consulting
for numerous risk management solutions and client driven initiatives.
During this time, Andy has also led the functional pre-sales and/or
consulting efforts for over 60 market and credit risk implementations at
financial institutions around the world.

Andy also currently teaches ERM and ‘portfolio management’ in the
Financial Engineering Programme at the Schulich School of Business and
‘market risk’ in the PRM Certification Training Programme through the
Field’s Institute in Toronto. In addition to publishing several refereed
articles on financial engineering, risk management and quantitative
methods topics, he has spoken extensively at capital markets, alternative
investment and risk management conferences worldwide. He is also a
member of the PRMIA steering committee for the Toronto chapter.

Andy holds a number of degrees, including a BSc (Honours) in Chemistry
from McMaster U., an MBA in Finance from Queens U., and a PhD in
Finance from York U. winning the 'Best PhD Thesis Prize'.
