Dr. Constantinides, George M.

George is the Leo Melamed Professor of Finance
at the GSB, University of Chicago where he has
worked from 1979. He is also a research associate
at the National Bureau of Economic Research. His
research interests cover the causes of the
historically observed premium of equity returns
over bond returns; the pricing and hedging of
fixed-income securities, options, futures, and other
derivatives; on the effects of transaction costs and
taxes on the pricing and hedging of derivatives; and

George has previously taught at Carnegie Mellon University and has visited
Harvard University as a Marvin Bower Fellow.

George has been awarded an honorary degree from the U. of Piraeus and
holds the Academy of Alumni Fellows Award from Indiana University.

George has published numerous papers in distinguished academic
periodicals. He has contributed chapters/ co-edited many books on
corporate finance, financial markets and asset pricing; and delivered the
keynote address at numerous academic and professional conferences.

George is Editor-in-Chief of the Foundations and Trends in Finance, and
Associate Editor of many journals. He is a former president of the American
Finance Association and of the Society for Financial Studies. He serves on
numerous governing/ advisory boards and is on the GARP Awards Review
Committee.

George received a bachelor/masters degree from Oxford University and an
MBA/DBA from Indiana University.
