Dr. Golub, Bennett W.
Ben is Vice Chairman of BlackRock and co-head of
the Risk & Quantitative Analysis Group in
BlackRock, based in New York. He is a member of
their Executive, Operating and Leadership
Committees. He is responsible for the market risk
and operating risk of all assets managed and is
co-chair of the New Product Committee.
Prior to this, Ben was co-head and founder of
Risk Knowledge Network, Inc.

BlackRock Solutions, a risk advisory business. He remains actively
involved in developing analytical tools for market and credit risks. On
behalf of BlackRock, he served as the venture capitalist and acting CEO of
Trepp, LLC., which pioneered the creation and distribution of data for
collateralized commercial-backed securities. Previously, he was a VP at
First Boston where he established the Financial Engineering Group.
During his tenure, his group structured over $25 billion innovative
collateralized mortgage obligations and asset-backed securities.
In 2001, Bennett co-received the ‘Asset Management Risk Manager of the
Year’ award from Risk Magazine.
Ben has authored many articles published in leading journals, magazines
and books including Risk Magazine and Journal of Portfolio Management.
He co-authored ‘Risk Management: Approaches for Fixed Income Markets’
(Wiley ’00). His affiliations include the Financial Management Association,
and the IAFE. He is a member of the Board of The Journal of Portfolio
Management and The Journal of Risk Finance.
Ben holds a BS/MS in Management and a PhD in applied economics and
finance all from the Sloan School of Management, MIT.
